7.30pm on every Wednesday in The Murray Hall: Line Dancing. Line Dancers meet every WEDNESDAY from 7.00-8.30pm in The Murray Hall. All ages and abilities were welcomed although initially activities were aimed at beginners. The cost of £3.00 per head (no concessions) and payable on the night to teacher Jay King from Rockcliffe.
Update of 14th March 07 There was a fair bit of tension as the dance time approached until at 7.30pm "all at once I saw a crowd, a hoste of variously coloured daffodils". The nerves vanished when the music kicked in and they launched themselves into some real fancy footwork. Some even got as far as "fluttering and dancing in the breeze" (someone had left the back door open) to the song 'Someone' that was written and donated by Charlie Landsborough especially for this Marie Curie event. ![]() Yes this is the teacher - Jay as a daffy. Well done ladies - Wordsworth might even have been inspired to pen a verse or two about this night. Most importantly - generous donations were made to this very worthwhile charitable organisation. UPDATE OF 25TH MAY 2007 Some of the local ladies attended a social evening that involved various line dancing clubs from around the area. No tales will be told - the following photographs tell teir own stories (thanks to Jane Smith for the pics.)
Winners of Best Mask competition at the 'last night' social was Elaine Wilson. Nora and Eileen took 2nd and 3rd spots. ![]() Nora, Elaine and Eileen.
The social evening to mark the last night of the 2006/2007 Line Dancing season was held in the Murray Hall which was decorated for the occassion by Jan, Nancy and Janet. All attending took along plates of food (and a few drinks). The dancing was as always enjoyable and the well earned buffet wonderful. Awards were made for the top three masks worn (not exactly country style) and the winner was Elaine Wilson.
