The club was formed as Rerrick Curling Club in 1838. This was for the Parishes of Dundrennan and Auchencairn. In 1880 Auchencairn went it alone and still exists.
The Auchencairn Bowling Club is situated on the outskirts of the village of Auchencairn in the South West of Scotland. It is located on the Balcary Bay road and looks across to Heston Island. There are at present around 50 members. The club is also quite unique, as all the members are non-smokers.
