It is with sadness that the death of Cynthia Mitchell, Glencairn, Bakery Street is announced. English by birth and still retaining her southern accent, Cynthia had actually lived in Auchencairn for some 70 years, the longest time of any current residents. She died in Dumfries Hospital on Friday morning after a thankfully brief illness and just a few days before her 88th birthday.
The funeral will take place at 11am on Saturday 9th July at Auchencairn Parish Church....</description>
