Here you will find a collection of such walks that are all within a close proximity of Auchencairn and of an easy to moderate nature that can be enjoyed by anyone of a reasonable fitness. They can be downloaded, printed, and taken with you as a guide to some wonderful scenery that remains undiscovered for many walkers. Cynthia Mitchell

It is with sadness that the death of Cynthia Mitchell, Glencairn, Bakery Street is announced. English by birth and still retaining her southern accent, Cynthia had actually lived in Auchencairn for some 70 years, the longest time of any current residents. She died in Dumfries Hospital on Friday morning after a thankfully brief illness and just a few days before her 88th birthday. The funeral will take place at 11am on Saturday 9th July at Auchencairn Parish Church....
