Visit to Threave Gardens The Gardeners’ Club had a very interesting tour of Threave Gardens with the Head Gardener, Brian Corr, on Tuesday, 5th July. The tour was very interesting and everyone who could go that day enjoyed it very much. We started off with tea/coffee in the cafe before the walk, and after the walk we all enjoyed our lunch in the cafe. Curling Club

The club was formed as Rerrick Curling Club in 1838. This was for the Parishes of Dundrennan and Auchencairn. In 1880 Auchencairn went it alone and still exists.

The Auchencairn Bowling Club is situated on the outskirts of the village of Auchencairn in the South West of Scotland. It is located on the Balcary Bay road and looks across to Heston Island. There are at present around 50 members. The club is also quite unique, as all the members are non-smokers.Check out the 88 photographs of the club from 1941 in the History Society photo archives.SEE 'WHAT'S ON THIS MONTH?' FOR CLUB EVENTS.
